Walkers expands Dubai partnership

Walkers announced that Tom Cochrane, based in Dubai, has been promoted to partner in the firm’s Funds and Corporate groups, effective July 1, 2017.

Cochrane assists clients on matters of Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands law. His primary focus is on investment funds (including hedge funds, venture capital funds and private equity funds). He regularly acts for leading sovereign wealth funds, asset managers and private equity firms on the structuring and formation of funds. Cochrane also advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, preference share issues and other corporate transactions.

The firm also announced the promotion of four senior lawyers to counsel across their offices in Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore. In Dubai, Sophie Kassam has been promoted to senior counsel (Insolvency & Dispute Resolution).
