WFW advises FEWA on procurement of first UAE IWP desalination plant
Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is currently advising the United Arab Emirates’ (“UAE”) Federal Electricity and Water Authority (“FEWA”) on the procurement of a desalination plant in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, UAE.
On June 18, 2018, FEWA announced the appointment of a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power as the preferred bidder.
The desalination plant is the first independent water project to be procured by FEWA and will have a capacity of 45m gallons per day. Financial close is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018.
The WFW Dubai team advising FEWA is being led by corporate partner Suhail Mirza, assisted by Associate, Simon Elliott.
