WFZO advised by Hogan Lovells

Hogan Lovells has advised on the establishment and launch of the World Free Zones Organization ("WFZO").

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the global launch and unveiling of the WFZO took place on the May 19, 2014 at the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai.

Hogan Lovells' team, led by Lewis E. Leibowitz (Washington D.C.) and Warren Thomson (Dubai), with assistance from Mikael Samela (Paris), Jessica Garestier (Paris), Anna Elshafei (Shanghai), Vicky Liu (Beijing), Anne Fisher (Washington, D.C.) and Elizabeth M. Hamelin (Northern Virginia/Washington D.C.), was a key advisor to the WFZO, its Steering Committee and Board of Directors on the association's establishment and organization, coordinating with local counsel in Geneva and providing advice and assistance not only in Switzerland and the UAE, but across numerous jurisdictions around the world as part of the establishment process, including the United States, Nigeria, France, China and Morocco. 

Hogan Lovells will continue to be a key advisor to the WFZO following the launch, as legal counsel to the association, its Board of Directors and its various committees.
