Fiona Robertson joins Gowling WLG to bolster media, entertainment and sports offering

Gowling WLG has announced the appointment of Fiona Robertson as counsel to lead the firm’s Media, Entertainment and Sports practice for the Middle East.
Robertson brings over 30 years of experience advising on legal, regulatory, governance, anti-piracy and content protection matters within the media and entertainment sectors including 18 years in the growing Middle East and North African region. She has worked on some of the region’s most significant media transactions as well as working on numerous major projects and productions.

Her expertise covers media and broadcasting, streaming platforms, music, live events, entertainment and sports rights, and all aspects of content finance, creation, distribution and licensing. It also includes advertising and marketing production and regulation, the operative aspects of technology and digital platforms, and all associated intellectual property and regulatory compliance. She advises broadcasters, streaming services, rights holders, sports bodies, brands and technology companies on their most commercially important matters.

Robertson is widely recognised in the market. She was named on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist Middle East in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. She has also been profiled by GC Elite and individually ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 during her time in private practice.
