Galadari strengthens Litigation practice with senior counsel appointment
Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants has appointed Bassel Ostwani as senior counsel in its Litigation practice, bringing extensive experience in civil, commercial and banking disputes before the UAE courts.
With more than 15 years of legal experience in the UAE, gained in private practice and in-house, Ostwani joins the firm with a strong track record in commercial claims, dispute resolution strategy and the management of legal risk, further enhancing the firm’s Litigation offering. He acts for clients in the real estate, banking and technology sectors on matters involving both UAE and international law. His litigation experience includes compensation and debt recovery claims, real estate and contractual disputes, and banking and finance disputes, including claims arising from credit facilities and security arrangements. His practice combines litigation before the UAE courts with corporate, regulatory and compliance advisory work, allowing him to approach disputes from both a commercial and a legal standpoint. Ostwani also brings senior in-house experience at a UAE free zone authority, where he advised on corporate, regulatory and compliance matters relating to the free zone and its licensed entities.
Ahmed Galadari, managing partner, said, “Bassel’s appointment reflects growing client demand for advisers who combine strong advocacy with a deep understanding of the commercial realities of disputes. His UAE court experience and in-house background give him a practical, strategic perspective. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
Bassel Ostwani, senior counsel, Litigation, said, “I have spent more than 15 years handling disputes in the UAE, in private practice and in-house, and I have seen how much clients value advice that is practical as well as legally sound. I am excited to join Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants and bring that experience to a team I admire.”
Ostwani’s work has been recognised by The Legal 500, and his practice combines extensive litigation experience with a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Damascus University and a Diploma in Compliance and Financial Crime from the University of Reading. He is fluent in Arabic and English and advises and represents clients across a broad range of contentious matters in the UAE.
