Ahmad Anani joins Pillsbury

Pillsbury announced that corporate lawyer Ahmad Jawad Anani will join the firm’s Middle Eastern Practice in the Corporate & Securities group as co-Managing Partner of the UAE office. A well-known M&A and transactional lawyer, Anani comes to Pillsbury from Latham & Watkins, where he served as co-managing partner of three offices (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha) and as co-chair of the Global Islamic Finance practice. He also is an alumnus of Al Tamimi & Co. Anani will join Osama Abu-Dehays as co-managing partner of the firm’s UAE office.

A noted dealmaker in the Middle East, Anani has represented prominent clients across the energy, business and financial sectors and has built a respected M&A and capital markets portfolio informed by a deep understanding of the Islamic Finance landscape.

Anani earned an LLB from Jordan University in Amman and an LLM in corporate law from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the New York Bar and the International Bar Association and serves on the board of Harvard Law School’s Alumni Association of Arabia.
