Akin expands Saudi presence with hire of Ibrahim Siddiki

Ibrahim Siddiki will join the firm on March 30, 2026, as co-partner-in-charge of its Riyadh office, alongside Alexander Malahias, further advancing the firm’s strategic expansion in Saudi Arabia and strengthening its ability to support clients driving the Kingdom’s economic transformation.

“Saudi Arabia is one of the most dynamic and fast-growing markets globally, and a core pillar of Akin’s long-term strategy in the Middle East,” said Akin co-chair, Abid Qureshi. “Ibrahim’s market reputation and technical strengths align exceptionally well with our clients’ needs in the Kingdom. His appointment underscores our continued commitment to building a market-leading presence in the region.”

Siddiki focuses on cross-border Middle East and North Africa (MENA) transactions, with a particular emphasis on Saudi Arabia. He advises sovereign and semi-sovereign entities, corporates, private equity sponsors and international investors on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, complex commercial arrangements and regulatory matters. He also brings substantial experience across projects and project financings, including public-private partnerships (PPPs) and large-scale development mandates.

“As demand for sophisticated corporate and transactional advice in the Middle East continues to accelerate, Ibrahim’s arrival brings significant additional depth for our clients,” said David Sewell, co-head of Akin’s global corporate practice. “His extensive experience across Saudi Arabia and the wider region will be a great asset to our clients as we continue to strengthen Akin’s offering in the region.”

“I’m delighted to welcome Ibrahim to the Riyadh leadership team,” added Alexander Malahias, co-partner-in-charge of Akin’s Riyadh office. “He brings senior capability across M&A, projects and development mandates, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to build out the team and our offering for clients in the Kingdom.”

Siddiki will work closely with corporate partner Alexander Malahias and Akin’s broader Middle East team across Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. His arrival follows a period of sustained regional investment, including the addition of project finance partner Jennifer Riddle and the launch of the Riyadh office, reflecting Akin’s continued focus on developing a market-leading presence in Saudi Arabia.
